This bridge over Interstate15 D is ready to go, but there is only a dirt road with very low traffic (Ted saw no cars on that road) leading towards the bridge. On this section of Interstate 15 D Ted saw several finished bridges with no way to drive on them like the above. Most if not all of the bridges only had minor dirt roads going towards them with little signs of nearby inhabitants. They must have wanted to be ready for future expansion.

Ted broke his derailleur and shortened his chain to make his bike into a one speed. He was still able to cycle but only had a medium gear. This was the first town, Zacualpan, Nayarit, Mexico, Ted arrived in after breaking his derailleur. The town had a bike shop, but no derailleurs. Ted then cycled to Las Varas, Nayarit, Mexico which had 2 bike shops, but no derailleurs. Then Ted took a bus from Las Varas to Puerto Vallarta.

Gustiva and Ted in front of Gustiva ‘s truck next to Mexico highway 200. Gustiva was parked when Ted biked alone the highway and Gustiva offered Ted a ride. At first Ted said no and then decided it would be an opportunity to meet some locals. Ted took the ride and ended up having lunch with Gustiva and his family.
